Bruce E. Ruben, M.D.
Dr. Ruben is the Founder and Medical Director at Encompass HealthCare. Our friendly family atmosphere, our dedication to our patients and our commitment to be the best wound care facility in the country are all rooted in Dr. Ruben. He started with a dream to create a comprehensive outpatient center for infection and wound care, precluding hospitalization.
Dr. Madeline Smock DNP,FNP-C,RN
Dr. Maddy graduated with my Doctorate of Nursing Practice with a specialty in Family Medicine in 2021 from the University of Michigan. She has a family medicine certification to practice from AANP. Dr. Maddy was a registered nurse at Michigan Medicine for 4 years, with a certification in organ transplant. She has experience as an undergraduate nursing professor. She is certified in botox and filler/aesthetic medicine.
Kitty Carpenter
Katherine “Kitty” Carpenter’s job title is Office Facilitator, but she’s really our “Office Everything.” If a patient needs a test, Kitty schedules it. If a patient needs a wound vac put on, she installs it. If a patient needs ANYTHING, Kitty will make it happen. She can be on one phone line scheduling an appointment, on another line getting a patient’s records faxed over, check off her “to-do” list and unjam a copy machine — all at the same time! This is no exaggeration. Our wound care staff and its attitude all begins with Kitty’s infectious smile. Kitty is an all-encompassing team player and she does it all with the most “can-do” attitude you will ever experience.
Robin Rampson
Robin is in charge of our in-office pharmacy. She purchases all of our medications, prepares all infusion therapies and keeps detailed records of everyone’s dosages.
Tia Wilson
Tia is in charge of billing and bookkeeping. The picture to the right is not of Tia Wilson, since Tia prefers not to be photographed. While you’re in our office, if you find yourself smiling profusely or laughing out loud, there’s a good chance you’re conversing with Tia.
Marayna Puchalski
Marayna is one of the first, friendly faces you see at our receptionist desk. She runs our team’s billing department alongside Tia, and is the mommy of a wonderful young girl.
Meet Shenaria Harris
Shenaria runs our Blood Café (infusion room). Whether she’s placing an IV or making a protein shake, she does it all with a friendly smile on her face and knows how to always make everyone feel right at home.
Meet Chris Carpenter
Chris is the Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber technician, with over 10 years’ experience working with persons with disabilities, and caring for others. His positive attitude is sure to brighten anyone’s day!
Meet Mindy Ruben
Mindy is our Vice President of Marketing. She’s responsible for getting the word out about our amazing, one-of-a-kind wound care facility through social media, advertising and marketing. If Mindy doesn’t have at least 24 tabs open on her computer, something’s not right. That’s when we check for a fever and send her home for the day.
Meet Inky and Pocket
Judging by the responses they get on our social media sites, our “WoundDogs” are the real stars of our office. Inky is a pure Blue Picardy Spaniel and Pocket is King Charles/Cocker Spaniel blend. Patients love them for their good manners and for the homey atmosphere they provide at Encompass. Dr. Ruben is their “daddy” but we all consider them part of our family. Our wound care team wouldn’t be complete without Inky and Pocket.
