“We’re Brothers and Sisters from Other Mothers and Misters.” -Kitty
We’re a great team and a close family at Encompass HealthCare and Wound Medicine, even though we’re not directly related. We’ve all been together and friends for many years. We love each other like family. And those feelings rub off on our patients to give our entire office a warm, safe, homelike atmosphere.
Katherine “Kitty” Carpenter’s job title is Office Facilitator, but she’s really our “Office Everything.” If a patient needs a test, Kitty schedules it. If a patient needs a wound vac put on, she installs it. If a patient needs ANYTHING, Kitty will make it happen. She can be on one phone line scheduling an appointment, on another line getting a patient’s records faxed over, check off her “to-do” list and unjam a copy machine — all at the same time! This is no exaggeration.
Kitty is an all-encompassing team player and she does it all with the most “can-do” attitude you will ever experience. (Notice that she’s listed first — even before Dr. Ruben!)
Meet Bruce E. Ruben, M.D.
Dr. Ruben is the Founder and Medical Director at Encompass HealthCare. Our friendly family atmosphere, our dedication to our patients and our commitment to be the best wound care facility in the country are all rooted in Dr. Ruben. He started with a dream to create a one-stop shop for complete wound care. And today, with our in-office treatments for venous insufficiency, including minimally invasive venous ablation, and the addition of The Encompass Home, a temporary residence for out-of-town patients, Dr. Ruben’s dream has been fully realized.
Steve Bell manages our hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy room and assists Dr. Ruben with wound care. Steve is the technician who will get you in and out of the hyperbaric chamber, monitor your treatment and help you equalize the pressure in your ears and sinuses for a comfortable experience.
Meet Julia Miller
Julia manages the infusion room at Encompass HealthCare and Wound Medicine. Aside from her outstanding experience in phlebotomy, Julia is also an expert in manual lymphedema drainage (MLD). Her duties include patient intake, photographing wounds in every stage of healing and maintaining our nutrition bar.
Meet Tia Wilson
Tia is in charge of billing and bookkeeping at Encompass. The picture to the right is not of Tia Wilson, since Tia prefers not to be photographed. So in her place is a picture of actress Pam Grier, who looks very much like Tia. While you’re in our office, If you find yourself smiling profusely or laughing out loud, there’s a good chance you’re conversing with Tia.
Meet Mindy Ruben
Mindy is our Vice President of Marketing. She’s responsible for getting the word out about our amazing, one-of-a-king wound care facility through social media, advertising and marketing. If Mindy doesn’t have at least 24 tabs open on her computer, something’s not right. That’s when we check for a fever and send her home for the day.
Meet Inky and Pocket
Judging by the responses they get on our social media sites, our “WoundDogs” are the real stars of our office. Inky is a pure Blue Picardy Spaniel and Pocket is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Patients love them for their good manners and for the homey atmosphere they provide at Encompass. Dr. Ruben is their “daddy” but we all consider them part of our family.
That’s the cast of characters at Encompass HealthCare and Wound Medicine. Our team promise is that we will help you heal your wounds completely if you will just follow Dr. Ruben’s personalized treatment plan.
