Referrals from other doctors, colleagues, skilled nursing facilities and all Michigan Hospitals are a regular occurrence at Encompass HealthCare & Wound Medicine, West Bloomfield, Michigan. Our interface with your patient referral can vary from a simple phone consultation to complete assumption of care for the complex catastrophically injured patient with bed sores.If you have a patient with whom you need help in order to fully recover, Dr. Ruben is availability to assist in any level that will best suit your desired clinical pathway.
Dr. Bruce Ruben is available on the phone, internet, via email, Facetime or Skype. Dr. Ruben participates in an old fashioned style of practice whereby he will stop whatever he is doing to speak to a physician. Following his consultation, he will provide immediate and direct feedback about your patient either by phone, email or text. Dr. Ruben believes strongly in making himself available so your patient can receive the unique, individualized and urgent care for which you are searching; safely and expeditiously, outside of a hospital. We are simply an adjunct to primary care physicians and other doctors with experienced expertise in the area of wound management, infection, venous ablation, nutrition and in many other areas that allow us to heal patients’ wounds and infections where other measures have previously failed.

Appointments: All means below can be accessed to refer your patient to us:
1.Simply call 248-624-9800 and ask to speak directly with Dr. Ruben.Your office personal can easily facilitate the appointment by contacting our Office Manager Kitty at 248-624-9800 or 313-806-4667.
2. For an Infectious Disease consultation, your direct referral is preferred.
3. For non-urgent evaluations you may direct your office facilitator or patient to fill out our contact form online found HERE. It will automatically be emailed to us and Dr. Ruben will contact you as soon as possible to discuss your case with you and how he can best help you with your patient.
In certain circumstances, Dr. Ruben will see the patient at home, in a skilled nursing facility or at the hospital. Dr. Ruben lays claim to the longest distance home visit 2417 miles; He saw a non-ambulatory patient once at his home in Portland, Oregon! Other times, the patients come in with their loved ones or case managers and we simply communicate with the referring doctor, treat the patient, and return that patient back to this physician.
